this is a public service announcement: i just read a book that said you dont hug your baby much it could really mess your baby up. cuz when we're rocked our brain releases chemicals that help to combat stress and we're all born on overdrive and require them to make us rest. i just wanted to spread the word. the book is called 'the boy who was raised as a dog' by a psychiatrist named bruce perry. a tragedy but more importantly it had hope and it changed the way i see. examples show that a lack of human touch in early infancy can limit children's chances of every really knowing intimacy. i just wanted to spread the word. i am not a neuroscientist and i am not a mum but that book broke my heart in two and i just can not stress enough that if you know a baby please just go give them a hug and hold them in your arms you might be teaching them to love.
